While it might look like a Himalayan doppelganger, there are some key differences between the two

The Yezdi Adventure is the most adventurous bike from the stables of Classic Legends and competes with the Royal Enfield Himalayan. While the comparison between the two bikes is quite obvious, the Yezdi offering does have some interesting details that makes it stand apart and boasts some interesting details.

Styling

According to Classic Legends, they wanted to style the Yezdi Adventure on the lines of a classic adventure bike and since the Himalayan is also based on the same ethos, it’s a mere coincidence. We don’t buy this reasoning and feel Yezdi could have been a bit more original in their approach.

The Yezdi Adventure could have employed a restyled headlight and the profile could have been different. Having said that, the fuel tank is very similar to the one found on the Yezdi Road King and the tail section is unique with a circular taillight and a split grab rail. The bike on display was loaded with optional accessories such as a jerry can, panniers, top case and auxiliary lights.

Engine

The Yezdi Adventure has the highest power and torque output in the Yezdi range and for good reason as it’s also the heaviest bike. Yezdi claims that the engine has been tuned to suit the character of the ADV bike and the piston too is different when compared to the Jawa. The peak power output is significantly more than the Himalayan and this should make it a good highway tourer. Another advantage that the Scrambler has over the Himalayan is a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch. Yet another interesting detail is that the Adventure is the only Yezdi offering to miss out on a twin exhaust muffler.

Features

Just like the Yezdi Scrambler, the Adventure also gets all-LED lighting. The instrument console is different, though, as you get a circular instrument console and another pod that is similar to the Tripper navigation system as seen on Royal Enfield for turn-by-turn navigation. The Adventure is the only Yezdi bike to feature Bluetooth connectivity with call and message alerts. An interesting detail is that the instrument console can be tilted by 15 degrees which, according to Yezdi, is useful when the rider is standing and riding.

It also gets the handlebar-mounted USB and type C charger, switchgear cubes and ABS modes as seen on the Scrambler. The Yezdi Adventure also gets three ABS settings - 'Off-road' (disengages the rear ABS), 'Rain' (for braking on wet surfaces), and 'Road' (the standard dual-channel ABS setting). The jerry can, top case, pannier and the auxiliary lights are offered as accessories.

Underpinnings

Being a proper off-road bike, the Yezdi Adventure gets large wheels, spoke rims, long-travel suspension and an impressive 220mm of ground clearance. It also features proper off-road tyres and the 15.5 litre fuel tank means fewer fuel stops while touring. The Adventure is also the only Yezdi offering to sport a monoshock suspension.

Price and Rivals

It doesn’t come as a surprise that the Adventure is the costliest Yezdi on sale. Prices for the Adventure start at Rs 2.10 lakh and it undercuts the Himalayan by a few thousand rupees. The USP of the Yezdi Adventure is that despite boasting similar hardware to the RE ADV, it gets loaded with modern equipment to make it stand out. Apart from the Himalayan, the Yezdi Adventure will rival the likes of the KTM 250 Adventure and the Benelli TRK 251
