Revolt RV1 has been launched in India and it is Revolt’s most affordable fast electric motorcycle. Priced at an introductory Rs 84,990 for the base RV1 model and Rs 99,990 for the premium RV1+ variant. All prices ex-showroom.
The new Revolt RV1 features a classic commuter-focused design, including a basic headlight, wide handlebars, a long one-piece seat, and a simple metal grab rail. The bike also comes equipped with a crash guard and a center stand as standard. Both variants are available in four colour options: Black Midnight Blue, Cosmic Black Red, Titan Red Silver, and Black Neon Green.
The RV1 and the RV1+ get a 6-inch digital LCD screen with the usual readouts. It also comes with LED lights all around. Both models feature built-in charger storage, and the fast-charging capability allows the RV1+ to fully charge in just 1.5 hours.
Both the variants of the Revolt RV1 get the same 2.8kW motor powering the wheels.
The base model RV1 comes with a 2.2 kWh li-ion battery offering a claimed range of up to 100km in eco mode, 100km in normal mode and 80km in sports mode. The RV1+ has a larger 3.24 kWh li-ion battery that gives it a claimed range of 160km in eco mode, 100km in normal mode and 80km in sports mode. Both batteries are IP67-rated which ensures water resistance.
The base RV1 charges from 0-80 percent in 2.15 hours with the standard charger and the top RV1+ variant charges from 0-80 percent in 3.30 hours with the standard charger.
RV1 has three riding modes as standard – Eco, Normal and Sports – and a reverse mode. The latter will help riders when manoeuvring in tight parking spots.
Both RV1 variants are equipped with 240mm discs at both ends. The RV1 gets a seat height of 790mm, ground clearance of 180mm, and has a kerb weight of 108kg for the RV1 and 110kg for the RV1+, which makes it pretty accessible for riders with a short stature.
The RV1 gets a single-piece seat, a telescopic fork, and a preload adjustable monoshock, which should keep the bike decently comfortable, while keeping the price low.
Revolt is offering a warranty of 5 years or 75,000km on the bike and the battery, and a 2 year warranty on the charger.
The Revolt RV1 goes against the likes of Hero Splendor, TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa and the Ola S1X.
In addition to the RV1 launch, Revolt Motors has announced upgrades to its flagship RV400 model. The RV400 now features faster charging technology that fully charges it in 90 minutes. It also includes an 6-inch LCD screen , a reverse mode, a leg guard and centre stand. The RV400’s range has been extended to a claimed 160km, and it is now available in a new Lunar Green colour. There is an addition of Bluetooth connectivity for music.
With the RV1 and RV1+ positioned as affordable electric motorcycle options, Revolt Motors is expanding its footprint in India’s growing electric vehicle market. These models will compete with rivals like the Ola Roadster, offering similar performance at a competitive price.
