Kawasaki has pulled the veils off its new electric streetfighter at the ongoing Intermot 2022 in Germany. Though the Japanese brand has multiple EVs in the pipeline, only one product made it to the show and would be the base for Kawasaki’s future electric two-wheelers.
The prototype shown at the Intermot dons the same styling seen on the bikemaker’s ‘Z’ line of nakeds. From its aggressive Z900-inspired LED headlight, the same triangular tail light seen on Team Green’s other nakeds and the alloy wheels seen on the Ninja 300.
Unfortunately, the company has not revealed any technical specifications of the e-motorcycle. However, going by the images, it packs a mid-mounted motor paired with a chain final drive. This motor is mounted in what appears to be an all-new frame that has the battery pack placed where traditionally an engine would fit. Also, a leaked VIN document suggested that an electric Kawasaki belting 11kW is in the works.
Kawasaki is betting high on EVs and flex-fuels. The Japanese marque had already showcased this prototype along with the HEV hybrid motorcycle a couple of months back. Kawasaki has over 10 such projects in the pipeline. However, if you are intending to buy a performance-oriented electric bike in India, your only option is to wait for the Ultraviolette F77.
