South Korean automaker Kia is all geared up to reveal the 2025 EV6 facelift at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The EV6 was the first dedicated all-electric car from the brand for the global as well as the Indian market. The refreshed model boasts nip-and-tuck updates based on the latest Kia lineup, featuring mild changes inside and out, an increased battery capacity, and upgraded tech.
The most substantial change to the design of the EV6 facelift lies in the fascia. It features a sportier and more aggressive front end with redesigned headlights and daytime driving lights in a triangular pattern. The brand calls it ‘Star Map Signature Lighting‘. Plus, there is a new front bumper.
While the silhouette of the electric crossover has remained unchanged, it has newly designed alloy wheels in sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches. The unique taillight layout of the EV6 facelift has been reworked. Meanwhile, the updated model also gets several new colour options. Kia has marginally increased the overall length and front overhang for aesthetics.
On the inside, the Kia EV6 facelift boasts minor changes while keeping a similar dashboard and centre console layout. Kia has given it a new steering wheel, a new curved panel that houses the 12.3-inch driver display and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a new fingerprint reader for biometric authentication.
The new features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates, a digital rearview mirror, an updated heads-up display, additional digital features and services via the Kia Connect Store, augmented reality for navigation, a new 15W wireless phone charger, digital key 2.0, and remote parking assist 2.
In the safety equipment area, the EV6 facelift gets a new ADAS function. It continues to offer multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control (ESC), to name a few.
Internationally, the EV6 facelift gets a larger 84kWh battery pack (previously 77 kWh) alongside an increased battery capacity of 63 kWh unit (previously 58 kWh). With this new battery pack, it now delivers a WLTP range of up to 582 km. The EV6 facelift continues to support 800V charging architecture that now enables faster charging up to speeds of up to 258 kW. This allows the battery to recharge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes and can gain a range of up to 343 km in 15 minutes. The power output of the updated rear-wheel drive models stands at 229 PS and 350 Nm, whereas the dual-motor all-wheel drive variants generate 325 PS and 605 Nm.
Currently, the EV6 has been priced at Rs 60.96 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the upcoming EV6 facelift is likely to command a premium over the on-sale version. In India, it takes on the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Mercedes-Benz EQA, Volvo C40 Recharge, and BMW iX1.
