The pair of electric and ICE-powered 7-seater SUV siblings will debut on December 2.
Bookings for both SUVs are underway for Rs 1.5 lakh.
Multiple global specs of the EQB offer a claimed range of more than 400km.
GLB SUV is also offered in multiple variants in markets abroad along with a 306PS AMG iteration.
Just days after its first appearance in the country, Mercedes has announced that the EQB electric seven-seater SUV will be launched in India alongside its ICE-sibling, the GLB, on December 2. Online and offline bookings are underway for a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.
The EQB will be Mercedes’ second model in its electric SUV range alongside the EQC, while the GLB will slot in between the GLA and GLC SUVs.
Mercedes hasn’t shared any details regarding the powertrain options for the India-spec models. In markets abroad, the top-spec 350 4Matic all-wheel drive (AWD) variant of the EQB produces 292PS/520NM and offers a claimed range of up to 407km. However, the maximum claimed range of 596km is offered by the base-spec two-wheel drive variant.

Pricing of both the SUVs will hinge upon their import route. You can expect a price tag of around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) for the EQB if Mercedes decides to assemble it locally. Same is the case for the GLB, which would receive a tempting price tag of around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom) if assembled locally. The electric EQB will take on the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the BMW i4, while the GLB will fend off competition from smaller SUVs like the Audi Q5, BMW X5, and Volvo XC60.
