TVS Motors has introduced three new variants in the iQube Electric lineup; the iQube standard, iQube S and iQube ST. All three variants of the e-scooter get new features, colour schemes, increased range and better performance.
The iQube standard is priced at Rs 98,564, about Rs 1,500 less than the previous model, iQube S at Rs 1,08,690 (both on-road Delhi). However, the price of the iQube ST variant has not yet been revealed. Being a premium electric scooter, the iQube rivals the likes of Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro and Simple One.
The new-gen iQube Electric is available in three variants; standard, S and ST each of which get different features, ranges and performance.
While the iQube standard has the same features as before, it gets two new paint schemes - red and grey, in addition to the white. The battery pack on the standard version now offers a claimed real world range of 100km, which is 25km more than before.
One notch above the standard is the iQube S variant, which also gets 100km of claimed real world range, but it also packs a seven inch full colour TFT display, joystick interaction panel and four completely new colour schemes.
The top end variant, the ST, gets a seven inch full colour touchscreen instrument cluster, setting it apart from the other two variants. Other new features include music control, proactive notifications including vehicle health, 4G telematics, voice assist, Alexa skill set, multiple themes for personalisation and OTA updates. Additionally, it also gets fast charging capabilities, 32-litres of under seat storage and four premium colours. However, the most interesting aspect about the ST variant is that it gets a claimed real world range of 140km and a top speed of 82kmph.
TVS claims that the 3.04kWh li-ion battery pack on the standard iQube gets new-gen li-ion cells, which come coupled with the company’s indigenously developed and manufactures BMS and thermal management system. Moreover, the ST variant gets a new bigger 4.56kWh li-ion battery pack, which gives it more range than the other two variants.
Additionally, the scooters come with different charging options. The standard and the S variant get a 650W or 950W charger option, while the ST variant gets 950W and a more powerful 1500W (fast charger) options.
The TVS iQube Electric has retained its design from the previous model, with only new colour schemes. Apart from that it continues to get features like turn-by-turn navigation, USB charging port, anti-theft alarm, geo fencing, regenerative braking and smartphone connectivity.
The standard and the S variant get the same 3.04kW BLDC hub motor that produces 4.4kW of peak power and 140Nm of torque.
The underpinnings have stayed the same, with a telescopic fork up front and adjustable twin shock absorber at the rear. Braking hardware includes a disc up front and a drum at the rear.
The TVS iQube Electric was already an attractive electric scooter in the Indian EV space, but with the updated features and a better range on offer, the scooter gets an even better foothold against its rivals at a very competitive pricing point. However, slight cosmetic changes would have made the new-gen TVS iQube an even sweeter deal.
