Honda took the veils off the updated CB300R at IBW 2021 and now the bike is set to debut very soon. Here’s everything we expect from the Honda CB300R BS6.
What’s New?
It’s evident that Honda has kept the CB300R’s neo-retro design largely untouched. It features the same round LED headlight, muscular bodywork and overall the same silhouette as the BS4 model. But the silver USD fork has made way for the new and more swanky golden coloured ones. Even the silver radiator shrouds have now been replaced with blacked-out units. Besides, the exhaust has also been slightly revised for the BS6 model.
Greener & Meaner Motor
The most significant upgrade made to the new CB300R is the BS6-compliant 286cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. And with the recently leaked type approval documents have revealed that the bike now makes 31.13PS, a small bump over the older model’s 30.4PS. Its 6-speed gearbox now benefits from a slipper clutch too.

Apart from the golden colour, the USD fork has been retained as it was. Even the monoshock remains unchanged. The front and rear disc brake setup too is carried over from the previous iteration.
Honda has employed the same LCD cluster on the CB300R BS6. While it packs trip meters, a fuel gauge, a gear indicator and fuel consumption readouts, it still lacks Bluetooth connectivity, something that’s now being offered on scooters as well.
Price and Launch
Even though the bike will now be manufactured locally, Honda is likely to price it on the higher side. Expect the CB300R BS6 to launch this month and cost around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). But if the localisation does any good, maybe we also expect Honda to be generous enough and price the bike a bit more affordably. Here are our expectations on the CB300R’s price.
