While Honda does not have any cruiser on sale in India, the bike maker’s Rebel lineup is quite popular here. And sitting at the bottom of this range is the Rebel 250, which has got a new Pearl Spencer Blue colour option in Japan for 2022.
This update drapes the bike’s tank and rear fender in dark blue. Couple this with the blacked-out mechanicals, and the Rebel 250 looks quite fiery. The earlier matte grey shade (with tan-brown seats) is carried forward as well.
The new colour will only be offered with the more premium Rebel 250 S Edition, and it will reach Japanese dealerships by January 2022. Compared to the standard bike, the S Edition gets a diamond-stitched seat, fork covers, and a headlamp cowl.
Apart from the new shade, there have been no other changes to the motorcycle. It continues with the 249cc single-cylinder engine generating 26PS and 22Nm.
The features are the same as well, comprising all-LED illumination with a quad projector headlight, a fully digital circular instrument cluster, and single disc brakes at both ends.
All this, coupled with the low 690mm seat height and 177kg kerb weight, makes the Rebel 250 a good and accessible cruiser bike. However, it is priced at around Rs 4 lakh in Japan, which is too extravagant by Indian standards.
In related news, Honda had plans to bring the bigger Rebel 500 in India along with its other 500cc offerings. But sadly, the pandemic seems to have thrown a spanner in the works. Nevertheless, the good news is that the Rebel 500 is now expected to launch here by early 2022.
