The Hyundai Creta N Line is the Korean carmaker’s third N Line offering, it locks horns with its Korean sibling, the Seltos GT Line / X Line. Both the compact SUVs are aggressively styled to make them look sporty in their own way, even though the compact SUVs are essentially the same underneath with minor mechanical differences. So how do these two eye-catching SUVs stack up against each other? Let’s find out:

Design

Despite belonging to the same family, the Hyundai Creta N Line and Seltos GT Line are completely different in terms of design. The Creta N Line looks more muscular and sportier with the red inserts and a new grille, while the Seltos GT Line looks sharper and has a more European car-like vibe to it. Both the siblings are equipped with modern design touches such as connected LED tail lights and LED DRLs, and sit on 18-inch alloy wheels.

However, with the Creta N Line, Hyundai has ensured it stands out from the standard model with a different grille design, plenty of red touches and larger 18-inch alloys. This gives the Creta N Line its own unique appeal over the standard car.

The Creta N Line comes with an exciting color palette: Titan Grey Matte, Shadow Grey, Thunder Blue, Atlas White and Abyss Black.

The Seltos GT Line colours include: Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Gravity Grey, Gravity Grey / Aurora Black Pearl, Intense Red / Aurora Black Pearl, and Gravity Grey / Aurora Black Pearl. The X Line gets a special Matte Graphite shade.

Cabin Experience and Features

The cabin experience in both the sporty SUVs feels premium. Considering they are the sporty versions of the standard Creta and Seltos, the two cars feature an all-black dashboard. The Creta N Line, additionally gets red inserts and stitching to further enhance the sporty appeal of the interior, while the same in the Seltos gets contrasting white finish in the GT Line and an unique Sage Green upholstery in the X Line .

Both siblings come packed with all the necessary features that you want and use on a daily basis along with a couple of fancy features that you would like to show to your friends and family.

Both the compact SUVs share the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the Seltos also gets a diesel engine option. The Creta N-Line’s turbo-petrol can be paired to either a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual transmission, while the Seltos GT Line’s turbo petrol can be had with a 7-speed DCT and the diesel engine can be had with the 6-speed AT.

The Seltos misses out on a manual gearbox option in the GT Line and X Line variants which we get to see on the Creta N Line.

The Creta N Line also gets a stiffer suspension setup over the standard Creta, as well as a quicker and more responsive steering rack for an engaging drive. The Seltos’ suspension system remains the same across all variants, but it gets bigger 18-inch alloy wheels.

Price (ex-showroom)

Rs 19.4 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh

Rs 16.82 lakh to Rs 20.45 lakh

While the base price for the 2024 Hyundai Creta N Line is significantly lower than that of the Seltos GT Line, the top-spec Creta N Line’s price is slightly higher than the Seltos’. The massive difference in the base price is due the manual gearbox option available on the Creta N Line.

To wind up, they are essentially the same car underneath, albeit wrapped up and served in different packaging, catering to different tastes. Since, there isn't much to separate these two, it eventually comes down to which brand appeals more to you and which car’s design catches your eye. Also, if you prefer a manual gearbox, you will have to pick the Creta N Line, on the other hand if you want the diesel engine, the Seltos would be your pick. Which one would you drive home (if you were to)? Let us know in the comments below.
