The Jawa 42’s lineup was recently expanded with the launch of the Jawa 42 FJ. The new neo-retro roadster is available in six colour variants and here’s a detailed look at them:
This is the entry-level variant of the new Jawa 42 FJ. It is priced at Rs 1,99,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the only variant in the lineup to get spoke wheels with tubed tyres while the rest of the variants get diamond-cut alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. It gets a dual-tone olive green and silver paint job that looks quite subtle yet charming.
The Green Matte Alloy variant gets the same paint job as the above variant but, as mentioned above, it gets alloy wheels instead of the spoke wheels. It is priced at Rs 2,10,142 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 11,000 more than the spoke wheel variant.
Both the Cosmo Blue and Mystique Copper variants are priced at Rs 2,15,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). They get diamond-cut alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The Cosmo Blue gets a bright dual-tone blue and silver paint job that makes the design elements of the bike pop up. The brown and silver dual-tone paint job on the Mystique Copper variant accentuates the muscular design lines of the neo-retro roadster very well.
The Deep Black Matte Black Clad and Deep Black Matte Red Clad colour variants are priced at Rs 2,20,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). Both variants get an all-black treatment all over the bike with the only differences being the colour on the sides of the fuel tank. The Deep Black Matte Red Clad variant gets a blood red colour while the sides of the fuel tank of the other is painted in black, completing the all-black treatment.
The all-new Jawa 42 FJ gets a more rounded fuel tank with anodised, brushed aluminium cladding and dual upswept exhausts compared to the standard 42. Powering the roadster is the 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 350 Alpha2 engine producing 29.2PS and 29.6Nm and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers while the braking setup consists of a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc brake. Dual-channel ABS is available as standard for all the variants. Its rivals are the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Hero Mavrick 440 and the Honda H'ness CB350.
