- The new Jawa 42 will be launched on September 3, 2024
Classic Legends have been pretty busy this month with the launch of the BSA Gold Star and the updated Jawa 42. Now, Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles has teased an upcoming version of the Jawa 42 on its social media handle and has confirmed that the motorcycle will be launched on September 3, 2024.
The latest teaser suggests that the upcoming Jawa 42 will be a different version compared to the updated bike launched a few weeks ago. We expect it to get revised styling with new colour options. We think that it will be powered by the 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine that produces 22.5PS and 28.1Nm in the Jawa 350. As we’ve observed during our road tests of the updated Jawa 350, the 334cc engine is now more refined and an overall hoot of a motor. So, that exciting performance should translate to the upcoming Jawa 42. To support the 334cc engine, we expect the bike to get a new frame as well.
Currently, the Jawa 42 is available in three variants with the base variant equipped with single-channel ABS as standard while the mid-spec and the top-end variants get dual-channel ABS as standard. The base and the mid-spec variants get spoke wheels and a semi-digital instrument console while the top-end variant gets alloy wheels and a fully digital instrument console. The upcoming 42 with the 334cc engine is expected to get dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels and a digital console as standard. A spoke wheel version is expected to be made available to keep the entry point in buying the motorcycle at a more accessible price.
The upcoming motorcycle with the 334cc engine along with the recently launched Jawa 42 will provide more options for the buyers. The price differences are expected to vary mostly according to the colour choices to be made available and the range is expected to be around Rs 1.90 lakh - Rs 2.20 lakh mark (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda H'ness CB350 and Benelli Imperiale 400.
