The next big global launch from Mercedes-Benz will be the next-generation (2024) E-Class. The German luxury carmaker is hard at work to ensure its popular sedan has all the elements to stand out and the proof of the pudding lies in the new interior images of the car released by Mercedes, which in our books, is as good, or even better than, the S-Class.
Step inside and you’ll be welcomed by what Mercedes calls Superscreen. So, the basic layout is very similar to what you find in Merc’s electric offerings like the EQS with the insane Hyperscreen. But here in the E-Class, the digital driver’s display is mounted separately from the main infotainment screen and optional co-driver’s screen.
Mercedes’ new Superscreen will run on the carmaker’s crisp and easy-to-use MBUX software we’ve seen on the marque’s other cars. And with superfast processors powering it, it should be relatively as fluid as an iPad to use. It also has 5G connectivity to ensure quicker use of the connected car features.
One really cool standout bit, according to this author, are the sleek AC vents running through the entire width of the dash. A strip of ambient lighting is incorporated in it and changes colour accordingly, for example, when you change the temperature. Speaking of which, Mercedes has incorporated Active Ambient Lighting, which is capable of changing themes depending on the music you play through the Burmester sound system. So, if you’re playing fast beats, the E-Class’ interior transforms into a nightclub!
Bits like the steering wheel, seats and upholstery and colours will change depending on the variant you pick. And this being an E-Class, Mercedes-Benz will also offer customisation options, so you can tailor your E-Class as per your preference.
