The Porsche Cayenne facelift has just been re-introduced with a new variant! Meet the Cayenne GTS, which sits bang in between the standard V6 versions and the bonkers Turbo variants. This puts itself in a sweet spot as this particular variant offers a sweet spot between the two of them!
The Porsche Cayenne GTS has gotten way more aggressive looking than before as it introduces new design elements to accentuate its sporty appeal. At the front-end, the dark tinted HD matrix LED headlights, along with the more aggressively styled grille with larger cooling intakes, gives the Cayenne GTS a sportier demeanour.
From the side profile, the Cayenne GTS sports 21-inch wheels which are finished in grey colour, while the red brake callipers add a dash of contrast. It also sits 10mm lower than before, giving it a much more aggressive stance. Additionally, the rear of the GTS model now sports bronze-coloured tailpipes instead of the previous black ones and gets dark-tinted connected LED tail lamps as well.
Porsche has also introduced three lightweight packages as well, which offer features like a carbon rear diffuser, a lighter roof, and reduced insulation, resulting in weight reduction of up to 25kg for the SUV.
Under the hood, the Cayenne GTS gets a 4.0-litrer twin-turbo V8 engine, but power has been increased from 460 PS to 507 PS, with torque rising from 620 Nm to 659 Nm. Paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drivetrain, the new Cayenne GTS accelerates from 0 to 100kph in just 4.4 seconds.
In terms of performance enhancements, the sporty SUV boasts new chassis technology and comes equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (active suspension that changes stiffness) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (sending power to the wheel with more grip). Additionally, all chassis components and control systems, such as Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), are engineered to ensure peak on-road performance and tight handling.
The Cayenne GTS now gets the Porsche Driver Experience system, featuring a standard curved digital driver’s display. An optional passenger-side infotainment display is also available to keep the co-driver entertained. The seats get red contrasting stitching along with GTS badging on the head-rests. An all-black interior scheme accentuates its sporty appeal contrasting with the exterior changes. Additional upgrades consist of a premium Bose sound system and ambient lighting.
The new Cayenne GTS and Cayenne Coupe GTS, if launched in India, will command an expected price of approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Currently, the standard Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe are priced at Rs 1.35 crore and Rs 1.41 crore respectively. The Porsche Cayenne GTS rivals other sporty SUVs like the Audi RS Q8, Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 53, and BMW X5 M Competition.
