Porsche has globally taken the wraps off the third-generation Panamera. And moments after its global launch, the pricing of the car has been announced in India, which starts from Rs 1.68 crore (ex-showroom). Initially, only the V6 engine will be available while the German carmaker is expected to launch more variants and powerful versions at a later stage.
Porsche Panamera Exteriors
On the outside, the new Panamera is more of an evolution of the outgoing model than an all-new design, especially when viewed from the side. However, tweaks have been made to the front, which now gets a new bumper with larger air dams and updated Taycan-like headlamps. You do get new rim options, while at the rear-end, the Panamera now gets slim connected LED tail lights that dial up the premium factor.
Porsche Panamera Interiors
On the inside, if you’ve been inside the Taycan or updated Cayenne, things seem familiar as the dashboard layout is nearly identical. It’s dominated by three screens, one each for the driver, infotainment and co-driver. Thankfully, physical controls have been retained for the climate control; however, controls for the AC direction controls are now accessible only via the infotainment screen.

Porsche Panamera Powertrain
Initially, only the V6 engine will be offered on the Panamera in India, which is a 2.9-litre twin-turbo unit rated at 353PS and 500Nm, an increase of 23PS and 50Nm over the outgoing car. It is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission unit that sends power to the rear wheels. According to Porsche, the V6 Panamera can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and go to a top speed of 272kmph.
Internationally, the Panamera also comes with a 680PS 4-litre V8 strong-hybrid engine, which does 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 320 km/h.
The top-of-the-line Turbo S, meanwhile, will be even more bonkers and we can’t wait to find out its specs, which are expected to be released later.
Porsche Panamera Rivals in India
In India, the Panamera will head against the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-Performance 4-door Coupe.
