KTM 390 Adventure and Enduro Lineup Leaked
390 Adventure in available in two variants: X and R
India launch expected sometime early next year
Upcoming KTM 390 Adventure lineup has been leaked and we have got some valuable information about the bikes before they will be officially unveiled at the 2024 EICMA motor show in November.
The leaked image shows that the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure will be available in two variants: 390 Adventure R and the 390 Adventure X.
The leaked specs reveal that the 390 Adventure R will be a more off-road focussed version. It will get a 21/18-inch front and rear spoke wheels with knobby tyres which will aid the off-roading. The seat height will be a massive 885mm. It will get the same instrument cluster as the current 390 Duke, but will have a positioning in the rider’s line of view. Other confirmed additional features are cornering ABS and switchable traction control. Another feature which we know from the previously leaked images is that the R variant will also get cruise-control. The suspension setup should be adjustable for compression and rebound at both ends, and will get a wheel travel of 230mm. The R model will be available in a single colour scheme which is a mix of orange and white. All the above mentioned specs are based on the leaked images and the actual specs will be unveiled at EICMA 2024.
The 390 Adventure X will be the more road-biased bike and the cheaper of the two. . It will have the same chassis and bodywork as the 390 Adventure R but will get 19/17-inch front and rear alloy wheels with road-biased tyres to help in touring. The suspension on the X will be non-adjustable and will have wheel travel of 200mm. The seat height will be much more accessible at 825mm. The X will get an LCD console to keep the prices in check and will get switchable ABS. . The X will get two colour schemes, a black and orange, and a white and orange, which is similar to the R variant.
The engine on both the variants of the new KTM 390 Adventure will most likely be the same as the current KTM 390 Duke but with a few tweaks to the sprocket sizes and/or gear ratios to better suit their nature. The 390 Duke gets a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 46PS at 8,500rpm and 39Nm at 6,500rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The 125 and 390 Enduro R have also been leaked. An Enduro bike is generally a stripped down version of an ADV. It ditches all the bodywork to shed weight to be better off-road.
The Enduro R series will most likely be an even more off-road focused version of the 390 Adventure R but will get less bodywork to keep the weight lower which is usually preferred when you go off-roads.
The 390 Enduro R should be built on the same chassis as the 390 Duke with a different sub-frame. It will sport different bodywork, a larger 21/18-inch front and back spoke wheels, long travel suspension, and a flat motocross-style seat. It will be powered by the same engine as the 390 Duke.
The KTM 125 Enduro R will likely get the same chassis as the KTM 125 Duke but with a different sub-frame, bodywork, seat and wheels to make it better off-road. The wheel sizes will be 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels along with long travel suspension. It will be powered by the same motor as the current 125 Duke.
Another interesting bike we see in the image is of the KTM 390 SMC. The SMC is a supermoto –- a motorcycle which gets a motocross-styled body which includes a tall seat height, long travel suspension, and 17-inch wheels with road-biased tyres. From the image we can figure out that the 390 SMC will get the same bodywork as the 390 Enduro R, shorter suspension travel and a continuous flat seat.
The KTM 390 Adventure series will be unveiled at EICMA 2024 and is expected to launch in India sometime early next year. The 390 Adventure R is expected to be priced at Rs 3.8 lakh while the X variant to be around Rs 3.5 lakh. The 390 Enduro should also launch in India as it was spied testing on the Indian roads. We expect it to be positioned between the 390 Adventure X and the 390 Duke, and cost around Rs 3.3 lakh. All prices ex-showroom. The 125 Enduro R and the 390 SMC will most probably not be launched in India as the 125 Enduro R will be too expensive and the SMC format is not well known or popular in India.
