JLR India has introduced the model year update for its iconic Defender in India. The 2025 Defender has been priced from Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom) and is available across 3 body styles: the Defender 90, Defender 110, and Defender 130. These models are offered in a choice of two trims: X-Dynamic HSE and X.
The 2025 Defender does not get any significant changes when it comes to design. However, it now features a black roof and 20-inch Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels. The notable changes and additions can be seen on the inside. To start with, there is an extended leather upgrade, individual captain chairs in the Defender 130, and a redesigned centre console for more storage space.
Additionally, the 2025 Defender comes with Windsor leather upholstery in the Ebony theme, and the front seats are 14-way electronically adjustable with ventilation and heating functions. Other cabin highlights include an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital driver’s display, and a panoramic sunroof. Optional packs offer several other features, such as a Meridian sound system, front centre console refrigerator compartment, and soft-close tailgate.
JLR India has not only given a model year update but has also bestowed the 2025 Defender with a new P425 V8 engine that produces 426 PS. This new V8 sees a drop in power output compared to the P525 and P635 versions of the V8. There are also a series of 2-litre and 3-litre engines available with the different Defender models. Plus, the Defender 110 can be had with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
There are four optional packs on offer with the Defender, offering various features and equipment. First up, the off-road pack comes with an electronic active differential, black roof rails, all-terrain tyres, a domestic plug socket, and wade sensing.
Then, the advanced off-road pack provides all-terrain progress control, terrain response 2, configurable terrain response, electronic air suspension, adaptive dynamics, and automatic headlight levelling.
On the other hand, customers can opt for the dynamic handling pack, which comprises electronic active differential, electronic air suspension, adaptive dynamics and automatic headlight levelling, 20-inch full-size spare wheel. Last but not least, the air suspension pack offers electronic air suspension, adaptive dynamics, and automatic headlight levelling.
The 2025 Defender has been priced from Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). The closest rivals of the 2025 Defender are the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Jeep Wrangler.
