(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)
The Ather Rizta will be launched tomorrow at Ather Community Day 2024. Pre-bookings for the scooter are already open for a sum of Rs 999. Here’s everything we know about the family scooter so far:
The Ather Rizta is expected to be priced around the Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom including EMPS, which stands for Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024) mark. Its rivals will be the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Air and Bajaj Chetak.
As a family-oriented scooter, the Rizta gets a boxy design language. It’ll come with a foldable pillion footrest, apron-mounted headlight and the floorboard area looks to be larger and flatter than that of the Ather 450X and Ather 450S. The seat is claimed to be the largest in segment, as we saw in the teaser shared a couple of months ago. The most recent spy shots revealed that the seat will be a dual-tone unit. The grab-rail is a black and chunky, single-piece unit with a cushioned pillion backrest attached on top of it. Similar to that of the 450S and 450X, the Rizta gets flush-fit pillion footpegs and a small stripe with a different colour, compared to the rest of the body, on the side panels.
The upcoming scooter will have a wide apron and an LED headlight with a horizontal layout. The headlight section stretches towards the sides of the apron and the DRL is placed towards the bottom of the headlight cowl. The rear-view mirrors look simpler than that of the 450S and 450X. Also, as a family-oriented scooter, the underseat storage space will be bigger than that of the other Ather scooters and should fit two half-face helmets with some knick-knacks fairly easily. The swingarm is probably a box-type setup and the scooter gets 12-inch wheels at both ends with MRF Zapper-N tyres.
The Ather Rizta will likely get the same TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts along with Google Maps navigation found in the Ather 450X. It gets a USB charging port and a boot light in the underseat storage space. Ather Energy recently teased that the scooter will come equipped with a safety feature, which we think will be single-channel ABS. We also noticed a few buttons on the left-sided switchgear, which could be used to control the navigation functions on the instrument console.
Ather Energy’s family scooter is expected to get the same 2.9kWh capacity battery pack found in the Ather 450S and the same motor with a peak power output of 5.4kW. Also, it will likely get the same 115km claimed range as well.

At Ather Community Day, the EV maker will be rolling out the Atherstack 6 OTA (Over The Air) update and will also be launching a new ‘Halo’ accessory (likely a smart helmet) along with the Rizta. Also, Ather owners attending the event have a chance to win an Ather 450 Apex by posting about the event on social media with the relevant hashtags.
