Audi India has closed the financial year (FY) 2023-24 with a positive growth. The German luxury carmaker has announced it had sold 7,027 units in the period, helping it grow by 33 percent year-on-year. Audi said supply constraints were an issue, but demand remained strong. Plus, in the first quarter of 2024, Audi reported a sales of 1,046 units.
Commenting on this news, Balbir Singh Dhillon, head, Audi India, said, “We have seen robust growth of 33 percent in FY23-24 on the back of a diverse portfolio. Our product portfolio continues to witness strong demand and we are poised to overcome supply challenges. Despite ongoing growth in the luxury market, which is tapering off on the back of record-breaking sales in 2023, we are confident about the industry's potential to exceed 50,000 cars in 2024.”
Despite these positive numbers, Audi India had rather a silent outing in the previous financial year when it comes to all-new model launches. The German luxury carmaker just introduced one updated model, the Q8 e-tron electric SUV. Apart from that, Audi also introduced special editions for the Q8, Q5 and S5 Sportback during the festive season.
Another highlight during the previous calendar year for Audi was local assembly of the Q3 and Q3 Sportback in the first half of 2023. And lastly, it was working on improving the charging infrastructure across the country.
Currently, Audi India sells over 10 models in our market whose prices range from Rs 43.81 lakh to Rs 2.22 crore (ex-showroom pan-India). It includes cars such as the Audi RS5 Sportback, A8 L flagship sedan, RS e-tron GT performance EV coupe, Q8 e-tron luxury EV, and Q8 SUV.
