Clash Of The Japanese Retro Bikes

Bajaj has just launched the all-new Pulsar F250 and its naked sibling, the Pulsar N250, in India. Even though the Pulsar F250 is a spiritual successor to the iconic Pulsar 220F, the Pune-based bikemaker has confirmed it will not be discontinuing the Pulsar 220F, at least not any time soon.
The Pulsar 220F has always been one of Bajaj’s bestsellers. In fact, between April to September (FY 2021-2022), the company sold 20,333 units in the domestic market, just 980 units short of last financial year’s numbers in the same time frame.
So, Bajaj has decided that it will continue manufacturing and selling the motorcycle here, along with the new Pulsar 250F. Bajaj will then decide the motorcycle’s fate depending on how the Pulsar F250’s sales performance, and also on how the Pulsar 220F’s demand pans out in the future.
At Rs 1,40,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Pulsar F250 is just Rs 6,093 dearer than the Pulsar 220F, while offering a more performance-packed package thanks to the new chassis and engine. It also offers slightly better features, complete with all-LED lighting and an info-packed instrument cluster. That said, enthusiasts who don’t want to shell out the premium, and are willing to overlook the outdated chassis and the 4.1PS and 2.95Nm deficit can still go for the Pulsar 220F, which still makes a fairly decent case for itself.
