Top 5 Best-selling Big Bikes In June 2022

The premium bikes segment in India is a rather exciting and popular one. From retro-style bikes to nakeds, supersports to ADVs, Indian enthusiasts are spoilt for choice as long as their wallets are heavy. The sales report of the segment for June has been released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), and here are the top five best-sellers:

Kawasaki dominates in big bike sales for the month of June 2022, with three big bikes in the top five list. The Z900, once again, is the highest-selling premium bike in the country, however, it shares the throne with its stablemate, the Ninja 650. While the Z900 has seen a consistent sales number,  the Ninja 650 has witnessed a 160 per cent growth when compared with June 2021. 

The Ninja ZX-10R shares its fifth position with the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, with 18 units sold. That said, the ZX-10R is the most affordable 1000cc supersport available in India.

The Trident, on the other hand, has witnessed a 320 per cent increase in sales compared to May 2022. However, the naked has also witnessed a 43.24 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decrease in sales. 

The Suzuki Hayabusa has managed to retain its position as the third best-selling premium bike for the second month in a row with three more units sold in June as opposed to May 2022. The reason for this could be that the Hayabusa is the best value-for-money hyperbike. 

In related news, Kawasaki has launched the 2022 Ninja 400 in India with a cleaner engine and slightly updated hardware, but at the same time the marque has priced it identical to the BS4 version. Click here to read our launch story.
