May 22, 2022 will mark the golden jubilee for the BMW M high performance brand. And to ensure a befitting celebration, BMW M will offer exclusive paint options and a bespoke logo resembling the one first used in 1973 on BMW Motorsport’s racing car on the 2022 M and M Sport models that undergo production from March onwards. Besides, there will also be some hot new M cars and events.
The bespoke logo features a circular border around the BMW logo with semi circles finished in blue, violet, and red (the traditional colours of BMW M). It was quick to add that blue stands for BMW, red for racing, and violet expresses a mix of two. As time passed, the violet was replaced with a dark blue. This logo was then used in the BMW M1 in 1978 and will now be seen on the 2022 models.
As we mentioned above, there will be some special exterior paint finishes that were used over the course of time on BMW’s M cars. These include Fire Orange, Dakar Yellow, Macao Blue, Imola Red, Daytona Violet, and Frozen Marina Bay Blue.

Did we also say there were some hot M models in the making? For the first time ever, there will be an estate version of the M3 while a special edition of the M4 Coupe will be on the offing. But the highlight reel will be the BMW XM, the Bavarian carmaker’s first all-electric performance model.
There will also be special events at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como, Italy, followed by the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Great Britain. The 24 hours of Nurburgring, in Germany, will be another event where fans will be able to see what is in store from BMW M in the future.
