- BMW M4 facelift launched in India at Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom).
- Redesigned adaptive LED headlights and tail lights inspired from the M4 CSL.
- Gets a carbon fibre roof for weight reduction and enhanced stability.
- Performance updates add up 20 PS power and now makes a total of 530 PS.
BMW has given the M4 Competition a mid-life update which encompasses few added styling elements and performance hike. It is now priced at Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom) as opposed to the outgoing variant which retailed at Rs 1.48 crore (ex-showroom), thus making it Rs 5 lakh more expensive. Available as a completely built unit (CBU), it can be booked at BMW dealerships and the carmaker’s online portal.
Exterior
As part of its facelift, the updated BMW M4 Competition showcases redesigned adaptive LED headlights with new DRL signatures and updated tail lamps have been borrowed from its sportier CSL variant which enhance its dynamic look, while optional M Shadow Line lights add a dark accent. Subtle cosmetic touches like a gloss black base for the BMW logo and a silver surround for the M brand logo gives it a sportier appeal.
Additionally, the carbon fibre roof reduces weight and lowers the car's centre of gravity, improving stability and agility. New design for the 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M forged wheels with blue high-gloss brake callipers enhance its sporty appearance, with options for red callipers and an M Carbon (various bits finished in carbon fibre) exterior package for added customisation.
Interior

The interior also gets subtle updates, featuring a new three-spoke M leather steering wheel with a flattened bottom and red 12 o’clock marker, complemented by carbon fibre accents. Optionally, there’s an M Alcantara steering wheel with similar design. It features the BMW Curved Display (14.9-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster) with BMW Operating System 8.5. Standard M sports seats with ventilation and heating adds to the convenience factor. Lastly, you get new trims across the cabin that add to the refreshed look.
Powertrain
The M4 Competition retains the engine from its predecessor but BMW has retuned it, and it now gains a power bump over the outgoing model:

The power figures notice a hike by 20 PS, but the torque figures remain identical to the outgoing model. It can sprint from a standstill to 100 kmph in 3.5 seconds.
With all the added bells and whistles, the price hike is marginal and shouldn't be a matter of concern for anyone eying on the M4 Competition as all the upgrades do justify the price increment.
In India, it rivals other performance oriented cars like the Audi RS 5 Sportback and upcoming Mercedes-AMG C63.
