BMW has introduced a Shadow Edition for its X3 SUV at a price of Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the M Sport diesel variant, it gets cosmetic changes done to the exterior and interior to enhance its sporty quotient.
Here’s a look at where the Shadow Edition stands in the variant lineup and how much it commands over the variant it’s based on:
Variant |
X3 xDrive20d (Diesel) xLine |
X3 xDrive20d (Diesel) M Sport |
X3 xDrive20d (Diesel) M Sport (Shadow Edition) |
X3 xDrive (Petrol) M40i |
Price (ex-showroom) |
Rs 68.50 lakh |
Rs 72.50 lakh |
Rs 74.90 lakh |
Rs 87.70 lakh |
As seen in the above table, the X3 Shadow Edition commands Rs 2.40 lakh over the M Sport diesel variant it’s based on.
The BMW X3 Shadow Edition showcases sportier elements to enhance its character. For instance, the blacked-out kidney grille creates a striking presence. The side profile now eliminates any use of chrome in favour of an all-black theme on the roof rails and window trims. The 19-inch Y-spoke style alloy wheels compliment the sporty design of this SUV. At the rear, high-gloss black tail pipes enhance its sporty flair. The high-gloss black also accents the window graphics.
The BMW X3 Shadow Edition is available in two metallic paint options: Brooklyn Grey and Carbon Black.
The BMW X3 Shadow Edition’s cabin comes finished in Mocha and Black with contrasting Blue stitching. The M Sport Package adds exclusive touches, including sports seats, an M leather steering wheel, and the all-black interior adds to the sportines.
But one of the biggest additions here is the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which now includes blind spot detection and alerts for lane changes, front collisions, and rear collisions. It also comes equipped with a 360-degree camera with parking assist functionality.
The BMW 2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine delivers 190 PS and 400 Nm. It enables the X3 to sprint from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds and gain a top speed of 213 kmph.
Priced from Rs 68.50 lakh to Rs 87.70 lakh (ex-showroom), the BMW X3 rivals other luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60.
