TVS has launched a new variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V in India at a price of Rs 1,39,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike has undergone some interesting changes which now make it more competitive when compared to its rivals. The changes include the addition of an inverted fork and also new colours.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V now features 3 new colour schemes: Granite Grey, Matte Black, and Pearl White. The colours are similar to what we have already seen on the previous-gen RTR 160 4V, but now get more stylish race-inspired graphics. The Granite Grey colour scheme stands out the most, as it is a nice balance between the subtle Matte Black and the flashy Pearl White.
Cosmetic changes aside, now the bike has also undergone a few changes to its underpinnings. It now sports a gold finished inverted fork, which gives the bike a premium look and feel.
Other than the changes to the colours and the addition of a new inverted fork, the bike remains the same. It is still powered by the same 159.7cc, air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 17.55PS and 14.73Nm. The bike offers the same set of features including 3 riding modes: Rain, Urban And Sport, which modulates power output and ABS intervention.
The instrument console also offers smartphone connectivity and related features such as turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, race telemetry among others. The underpinnings remain the same as well with the bike getting 17-inch alloys at both ends, with braking duties being handled by a 270mm front and a 240mm rear petal disc setup.
The Apache RTR 160 4V has received a much needed update with this new variant, and is now more ready than before to take on its rivals like the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, which also offers a similar inverted fork setup. We hope TVS also brings a similar update to the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, which hasn’t seen any for a long time.
