Earlier, we provided an overview of the 2024 Kia Sonet’s HTK variant, a one-above-base model catering to budget-oriented buyers. In this report, we’ll be looking at the mid-spec HTK+ variant, which is the entry point for those looking to pick the Sonet with a turbo-petrol engine. Let's take a brief look at what it has to offer.
Up front, the Sonet HTK+’s revised front grille gets chrome surrounds in matte finish, differing from the gloss silver finish seen on lower-specced variants. It is equipped with halogen headlights but features LED DRLs and LED fog lamps over the entry-level variants.
Turning to the profile, you will see 16-inch stylish steel wheels that add to the wow factor. Opting for the 1-litre turbo-petrol variant also provides you with a sunroof. At the rear, it gets connected LED taillights that add an upmarket touch to the styling. The overall rear design is complemented by a silver skid plate with a black-coloured bumper.

Inside, the HTK+ variant boasts an all-black interior theme with fabric upholstery. There are contrasting silver elements all round the cabin that provide a premium touch throughout. While the front seats have adjustable headrests, the rear seats lack them. However, rear passengers benefit from AC vents, rear sunshades and USB Type-C charging ports..
It also features automatic climate control, one-touch up/down windows for the driver-side, and push-button start/stop with a smart key. The smart key also allows you to remotely start the car if you choose either the 1-litre turbo-petrol or 1.5-litre diesel variants.
The HTK+ variant comes equipped with a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 4.2-inch semi digital driver’s display, type-C charging ports, electric ORVMs, rear AC vents, 6-speaker sound system, rear sun shades, and aforementioned features like automatic climate control and remote engine start on select engine options.
Safety is taken into account with a kit featuring six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, rear parking camera with sensors and seat belt reminders for all passengers.

With the 2024 Sonet, you now have the option of a 6-speed manual transmission for the 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, a notable limitation of the HTK+ variant is the absence of an automatic option. You do get a 6-speed clutchless manual with the turbocharged petrol engine, but if you are seeking a proper automatic transmission, you will have to climb the variant lineup.
