Maruti Suzuki launched the Baleno-based sub-4m crossover called the Fronx back in April 2023. Now, the automaker has introduced an accessorised edition called the Velocity Edition but only for the mid-spec Delta+ trim. Let us take a look at the Fronx Velocity Edition in more detail.
On the outside, the Velocity Edition features an exterior styling kit comprising ORVM garnish, door visors, headlamp garnish, and black-finished body side moulding. Most of these enhancements can be seen in the showcased model, giving it a premium touch.
Additional styling tweaks in the Velocity edition include mud flaps and a back door garnish.
Coming to the insides, the Fronx Velocity Edition is equipped with illuminated door sills, all-black seat covers, 3D floor mats, and a 3D boot mat. There’s also an interior styling kit on offer with a carbon fibre pattern for the door trims. Maruti is also providing the Fronx Velocity Edition with black cushions and a vacuum cleaner.
As the Velocity Edition is based on the Delta+ variant, it comes with the same equipment list as the regular model. This includes a 7-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, four-speaker audio system, electrically foldable ORVMs, keyless entry, and automatic climate control. Safety features include dual airbags, hill hold assist and rear parking camera with sensors.
The regular Fronx is offered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (N.A.) petrol that develops 90 PS / 113 Nm and a 1-litre turbo petrol that is rated at 100 PS / 148 Nm. The former comes with 5-speed MT or AMT transmission options, while the latter gets a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. However, the Velocity Edition is offered only with the 1-litre turbo powertrain.
The Fronx Velocity Edition carries a premium of Rs 34,000 over the regular Delta+ variant. Overall, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx goes up against the likes of Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the Renault Kiger.
