Kia India has confirmed that the facelifted Sonet is slated to break cover in India on December 14. Price announcement of the Sonet facelift is expected to happen in early 2024. The model has been spotted on test multiple times on our shores and borrows plenty of design touches from the updated Seltos. It will be the first midlife update for Kia’s popular subcompact SUV, which has been on sale since September 2020.
Kia Sonet Facelift Exterior Design
The facelifted Kia Sonet has been spied sans camouflage earlier and here’s a quick sum up of its design changes. It gets a redesigned grille with fresh inserts, accompanied by updated LED headlights, the DRLs on which now extend downwards. Beneath, the redesigned bumper boasts a refreshed air dam design, but notably omits fog lamps.
No major changes on the side, save for the new alloys. But the rear is where you can spot the updated Sonet easily, as it features connected LED tail lamps that are inspired from the Seltos. A tweaked rear bumper rounds off the overall design.
Kia Sonet Facelift Interior Design
The updated Sonet retains its familiar dashboard layout from the current model, featuring a prominent floating infotainment touchscreen. Yet, subtle alterations are apparent, notably in the revised climate control panel. Additionally, there's now a semi-digital instrument cluster, accompanied by a fresh black/tan colour scheme enhancing the cabin's aesthetic.
Kia Sonet Facelift Features
In addition to the anticipated instrument cluster update, the sub-4 metre SUV will likely incorporate a 360-degree camera and the partial ADAS suite recently integrated into the Hyundai Venue.
Features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, a sunroof, wireless phone charging, a Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, and cruise control are expected to be retained. On the safety front, the SUV's existing features should be carried forward, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and electronic stability control.
