Royal Enfield seems to have some plans for such a factory custom, and it could be called the Shotgun 350

Since its inception in October 2020, the Royal Enfield J-Platform has spawned a cruiser (the Meteor 350), a retro model (the Classic 350) and even a streetbike (the Hunter 350). But it appears Royal Enfield still has a few more Bullets (excuse the pun) left in the barrel.

But first, a small recap; You might have already heard of Royal Enfield’s recently held investor event. Here, they briefly teased the upcoming bikes based on the 650 platform, as well as those based on the new 450 platform.

In the same presentation, Royal Enfield has also revealed that it has a bobber-styled derivation of the Classic 350 in the pipeline. Since Royal Enfield is already planning a 650cc bobber called the Shotgun 650, the Chennai-based bikemaker could call the smaller version Shotgun 350.  But the Shotgun 350 will be more than just a superficial mod-job. Royal Enfield will give it the full ‘Factory Custom’ treatment; think Thunderbird 350X. Hence, expect ‘ape-hanger’ handlebars, chopped fenders, and a scooped single seat. It may even get wider tyres, to round off the look.

Everything else will, understandably, stay familiar. The Shotgun 350’s engine capacity and specs will be identical to the Meteor, Classic and Hunter, though the tune may be a bit more sprightly. It will roll on wire-spoke wheels, with disc brakes at both ends.

And finally, since all we know about the Shotgun 350 is a silhouette in a presentation, it is still a long way from production. Hence, going by the usual RE timelines, the Shotgun 350 (or whatever its final iteration will be called) may only materialise by mid2024.
