While the show stoppers of the day one at the Auto Expo 2025 were the Tata Sierra ICE, Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV concept, and the new BMW iX1 long wheelbase (Phew!), the second day of the 2025 Bharat Auto Expo was joyful with a wide variety of new car unveils as well as a few launches. Here are the major highlights of the day.
After launching the new Creta Electric on the first day, Hyundai showcased its flagship electric vehicle the Ioniq 9 in India at the Auto Expo 2025. The SUV features a modern and minimalist look with an upmarket interior. Apart from that, the carmaker also showcased the E4W concept quirky all-electric concept.
Morris Garages unveiled the new Majestor SUV today alongside the new ZS HEV, commonly known as the Astor in India. While the Majestor is a premium SUV offerings positioned above the on-sale Gloster, the new ZS HEV has entered a new generation, bringing in a fresh look, revamped cabin, new features, and a strong hybrid powertrain.
The brand also presented the IM 5 and IM 6. The former is a sedan, whereas the latter is a crossover. Interestingly, both the electric vehicles look identical unless seen from a specific angle.
Vietnamese carmaker VinFast showcased a host of new cars at the Bharat Auto Expo 2025. It also announced plans to enter the market by Diwali this year. The brand will introduce its VF 6 and VF 7 in the market at first, likely followed by other electric vehicles.
Although Mahindra has already launched the new BE 6 and XEV 9e, it showcased the BE 6 and XEV 9e today at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The prices of the BE 6 range between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the prices of the XEV 9e start at Rs 21.90 lakh and go up to Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Vayve Mobility has introduced its first electric vehicle, the Eva, in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The prices of the Eva start at Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it is worth mentioning that the electric car is available with battery as a subscription service similar to the MG Windsor.
BYD, a Chinese automaker, which sells the Atto 3 and eMAX 7 revealed its third offering for the market, the Sealion 7. With bookings already open in the country, the customer deliveries of the electric crossover will commence on 7 March, 2025.
BMW launched the new-generation X3 from Rs 75.80 lakh to Rs 77.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets revolutionary design changes with some new styling elements, the interior gets a more minimalist design. It also features BMW Curved Display setup. The new X3 is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. Bookings are open in India, deliveries to begin from April 2025.
Iconic British marque Mini revealed its new Cooper S John Cooper Works Pack in India at the Auto Expo 2025. Priced at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the hatch adorns a sporty look and a new cabin theme. Plus, there are new alloy wheels. It comes powered by a 204 PS 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine.
The second day was full of exciting reveals and launches from various carmakers. Major highlights of the second day were from MG, BMW, Mini, VinFast, Hyundai, and BYD. On 19 January, the Auto Expo 2025 opens to the public.
