UPDATE: Bajaj has launched the updated NS200 and the NS160. More about the updated NS200 here. Check out more about the NS160 here.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is all set to get a substantial upgrade, after being in existence for over ten years. The company has dropped a teaser on its social media channels which indicates the presence of something ‘upside down’.
Hear of the phrase ‘upside down’ for motorcycles, and you’re immediately bound to think of an upside down fork. Incidentally, the Brazil-spec NS200, called the Dominar 200, gets an upside down fork. Hence, just like the Brazilian-spec bike, we believe that the 2023 iteration of the Pulsar NS200 will sport a 33mm inverted fork.
One update that’s easy to guess on the upcoming NS200 is bound to be OBD-2 compliance. With India all set to enforce its BS6.2 emission norms, the 2023 Pulsar NS200 will be seen sporting the second generation of the onboard diagnostic device to make it compliant with the latest regulations.
One feature that the Brazilian Dominar 200 does not get is dual-channel ABS; however, we believe that Bajaj may equip the 2023 Pulsar NS200 with this safety feature. After all, the Pulsar F250, Pulsar N250 as well as the Pulsar N160 get dual-channel ABS as an option, and the company has emphasised on its models getting the safety net of ABS. The Platina 110 is one such example, as it is the most affordable bike in India to get ABS.
One feature that Bajaj has been very conservative about is a fully digital display with smartphone connectivity, and we expect the Pulsar NS200 to miss out on this feature too. What the bike may get in addition to all of the above is a range of new colours and graphics. Bajaj may even throw in coloured alloy wheels or even rim stickers to spice up the bike.
The 2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is expected to be launched this month, with a premium of Rs 10,000 over the current retail price of Rs 1,40,666 (ex-showroom Delhi). Even with this price hike, the NS200 will continue to undercut its main rival and Austrian cousin, the KTM 200 Duke (Rs 1,91,693), by a significant margin.
