Though it's based on the Harley-Davidson X440, the tail section, suspension setup and tank profile are completely different

(Update: The Hero Mavrick 440 has been launched with an attractive price tag. Check out the details in our launch story here.)

We have known for quite some time now that the upcoming 440cc motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp, based on the Harley-Davidson X440, will be called Hero Mavrick. And now the manufacturer has themselves confirmed the name in their social media handle. They have also confirmed the launch date to be January 23, 2024.

Also, the Mavrick has been spotted testing again. From these images, we can see that it gets a different tail section than the X440. It is much sleeker and the taillight seems to be tucked below the seat, similar to that of the Hero Xpulse 200 4V. The licence plate holder is sleeker and lengthier as well and the bike gets a single piece grab rail instead of the split ones on the Harley-Davidson bike. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers instead of the inverted fork and gas-charged dual shock absorbers on the X440. The exhaust design is also quite different. The alloy wheel design and the single-piece seat seems to be similar though.

Moving towards the front, the tank profile looks more rounded and sporty and gets tank extensions. The overall riding posture looks upright, with a slightly forward lean. The headlight design looks similar to that of the Xpulse 200 4V. The rest of the details like the LED indicators are similar to when the bike was spotted earlier.

As mentioned, the Hero Mavrick will be launched on January 23,2024, and will likely get a price tag of Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). Its rival will be the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
