(Update: The Hero Mavrick 440 has been launched with an attractive price tag. Check out the details in our launch story here.)
The Hero Mavrick is ready to make its debut on January 23, 2024 and ahead of the launch, Hero MotoCorp has now teased the exhaust note, instrument console and the silhouette of the motorcycle as well.
Honestly, the exhaust note doesn’t seem all that different from the one it’s based on, the Harley-Davidson X440. However, the design of the silencer is different, and based on the spy shots, it looks more coherent than the one in the Harley-Davidson bike.
The instrument console is a negative LCD unit and we can see that it gets the speedometer at the centre, flanked by the tachometer on the left side (with the same 6000rpm redline as the X440) and the fuel indicator on the right hand side on the circular part of the console. It also gives out distance-to-empty, mileage indicator, tripmeter, gear indicator and side-stand alert readings. On the square part of the console, we can see that the Mavrick gets Bluetooth connectivity with call and SMS alerts along with turn-by-turn navigation, battery level, distance and ETA readouts. In the same teaser, the headlight is clearer than the one we have seen earlier. While it is somewhat reminiscent of the Hero XPulse 200 4V, it gets a curvier DRL along with a single LED projector as opposed to dual projectors in the XPulse.
Coming to the silhouette, we must say it looks darn tasty. It has a muscular and sportier stance than the X440 and the sculpted fuel tank along with the neatly proportioned tank extensions add beefiness to the overall design. The headlight alongwith the headlight nacelle seems to be protruding outwards from the instrument console and handlebar setup. The short front fender adds to the overall sporty look of the bike. The single-piece seat has a contoured design to it and the exhaust looks pretty chunky. But that’s also because the silhouette is an artist’s representation, and not an actual photo of the real bike. That said, the Hero Mavrick still looks quite promising, considering it looks like a proper modern, sporty cruiser - something that’s not very common in the segment apart from the Bajaj Dominar 400. On another note, though, we cannot help but think the designers might’ve gotten some inspiration from the Brabus 1300 R.

As the Hero Mavrick is based on the Harley-Davidson X440, it will be powered by the same 440cc, air-cooled engine producing 27.4PS and 38Nm. It is expected to get a price tag of about Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
