Will it be a new bike or just a new variant? We analyse

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) filed a trademark for the ‘CB350 Brigade’ name on June 2, 2022. Honda has also sent us a Block Your Date’ invite for August 8, 2022, for a new two-wheeler debut, however, it is very unlikely that the Brigade is the product that will be breaking cover next month.

The application for the CB350 Brigade is under the ‘Formalities Check Pass’ which means that the submitted records information is correct and authenticated. It takes several months for the trademark to be accepted, and hence it is unlikely that the product that will be launched on August 8 will be called this.

That said, the CB350 Brigade is unlikely to be a new bike and rather a special defence forces edition of the H’ness CB350, similar to what Royal Enfield does with the Signals Edition for the Classic 350.

While it could come with exclusive new liveries, the bike is likely to stay the same mechanically. Honda’s CB350 platform is powered by a 348.36cc, single-cylinder engine making 21.07PS and 30Nm. The motor is paired to a five-speed gearbox.
