Honda has been increasing the prices of its new BS6 models across the board. The latest model to be affected by the hike is the Dio BS6 whose prices have been updated on Honda’s official website. Last month, the bikemaker had hiked the prices of the Activa 125, Activa 6G, and SP125 BS6. Interestingly, the prices of all these models has been hiked by Rs 552. The updated pricing of the Dio is Rs 60,542 for the STD variant and Rs 63,892 for the DLX variant.
This is the first price hike after the launch of the Dio BS6. The BS6 model commanded a premium of Rs 5,749 (STD) and Rs 7,099 (DLX) over its BS4 variants. For the price hike, the Dio BS6 got a fuel-injected 109.51cc that delivered 7.76PS and 9Nm -- 0.16PS less and 0.09Nm more than the BS4 model. It also got an ACG starter generator for silent starts. While the bodywork got a minor refresh and an external fuel filler cap, the underpinnings were substantially updated. The Dio BS6 has a longer wheelbase, telescopic forks, and a large 12-inch front wheel. It still misses out on a front disc brake and alloy wheels though.
Most of Honda’s new BS6 two-wheelers should be immediately available given the bikemaker’s decision to open dealerships from May 4. We have reached out to Honda for a reason for the price hike and will update you once we get an answer back.
