Honda Dio To Soon Get The H-Smart Treatment

After the Activa 6G H-Smart and the Activa 125 H-Smart, Honda is all set to give this piece of technology to the sporty Dio as well. What that means is the scooter will also get keyless functionality. Here’s a lowdown on everything new that it’ll get: 

Along with these tidbits, the top-end variant of the Dio will even get alloy wheels. While the limited edition Dio Sports got alloy wheels as standard, the current trims miss out on them. Apart from these things, one update we’d love to see on the Dio H-Smart is the addition of disc brakes, at least at the front. The lack of disc brakes (even as an option) on a scooter that’s otherwise so sporty has always stuck out to us.

There are unlikely to be any other mechanical changes though and the scooter will likely make the same 7.76PS and 9Nm from its 109.5cc air-cooled mill (which will be a BS6.2 compliant one). 

The scooter’s standard trim retails for Rs 68,625, while the Deluxe variant will set you back by Rs 72,626 (both ex-showroom Delhi). Honda could launch it sometime in June, with it carrying a premium of around Rs 6,000 over the standard variant, similar to what we saw on the Activa 6G. 

Up until last year, buyers looking for a sporty 110cc scooter only had the Dio as their option. But now with the advent of the Hero Xoom, people have a scooter that packs more features, a fresher design and a similar price tag.
