Jaguar Land Rover India Records Its Highest Sales Figures In the Last Five Years

• Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India reports 81 percent growth in year-on-year retail sales.

• Range Rover models registered 160 percent while Defender models saw 120 percent growth.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has released its sales performance for the 2024 financial year, recording its highest sales figures in the last five years in India. The automaker sold 4,436 units, marking a 81 percent surge from the previous year. In the fourth quarter, JLR India recorded sales of 854 units. Let's explore their model-wise numbers. 

The British carmaker's current model range includes the Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar's models. Among these, the Range Rover and Defender witnessed significant growth, with retail sales increasing by 160% and 120%, respectively. Additionally, the 2024 Discovery Sport showed a 50% increase, while the Range Rover Evoque saw a 55% year-on-year growth –  marking a substantial growth over the previous year.

Expressing his thoughts on this achievement, Mr. Rajan Amba, managing director of JLR India, highlighted the escalating demand for premium luxury vehicles in India, particularly for the Range Rover and Defender brands, as a significant factor driving the company's growth. He also attributed the success to a series of retail sales records and affirmed confidence in the company's strategy and vision for the future.

Furthermore, JLR's certified pre-owned business witnessed a notable 28 percent year-on-year growth. JLR also plans to introduce pure electric models for the Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender ranges, while Jaguar will transition to an all-electric lineup by the end of the decade.
