Quick News Highlights:
- The new Jawa 42 has been teased on the brand’s social media handles.
- It’s expected to get the same 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Jawa 350.
- The bike is likely to be priced around Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
The latest Jawa 42 teaser reveals the bike’s silhouette from the rear and reveals a lot of interesting details. Jawa will launch the new 42 tomorrow (September 3, 2024). But before that, here’s everything that we expect it to have.
The bike has a new, sportier design and has slimmer, curvier fuel tank. The teaser also reveals a ‘Jawa’ sticker on the fuel tank. The Jawa 42 has a single-piece handlebar. It also gets a new single-piece seat that complements the bike’s sporty look.
The tail section looks similar to the current iteration of the Jawa 42 which was revealed last month. However, the split grab rail looks different. The upcoming Jawa 42 gets a telescopic fork, twin shock absorbers, and an upswept exhaust. There are changes expected on the bike’s frame, with a likely possibility of a new frame altogether, to accommodate the new engine. Additionally, the bike is expected to get dual-channel ABS as standard. Jawa may offer the bike with a spoke and alloy wheels; the latter on more expensive variants.
In terms of features, the new Jawa 42 is likely to feature a new fully digital instrument console. It may also get smartphone connectivity for call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation
The new Jawa 42 is likely to be equipped with the same 334cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine as the Jawa 350, which produces a peak output of 22.5PS and 28.1Nm. However, it may be tuned to suit the 42’s nature and characteristics.
The upcoming Jawa 42 may also get a range of new colour options. We expect the bike to be priced at around Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H'ness CB350.
