Every Easter, Jeep makes it a point to show off cool concepts as well as some off-road thrills in their annual Easter Jeep Safari event. Now in its 56th iteration, Jeep has just taken it up a notch, revealing not one, nor two, but seven radically different concepts. Let’s take a look at all of them in detail:
Jeep Wrangler Magento 2.0 Concept
Remember when the Magneto showed up in 2021 as a preview of the first all-electric Wrangler? Well, the off-road concept’s back and it's meaner than ever. Dubbed the Magneto 2.0, the biggest bump up is in its electric powertrain, making more than double than before at 625PS and 1152Nm.
That’s thanks to four lithium-ion battery packs spread across the chassis to have a combined capacity of 70kWh. It retained the six-speed manual gearbox, and its wheelbase extended by 12 inches. Cool off-road kit includes a custom 3-inch lift kit and 40-inch off-road tyres wrapped around 20-inch wheels. As for looks, not a lot has changed aside from minimalistic bumpers, and a carbon fibre hood.
Moreover, the three-door variant without the doors and blue highlights make it look dope!
Jeep Bob Concept
Imagine the Wrangler and the Gladiator having a baby. Well that’s what the Bob concept insituates. It’s devoid of all four doors, and B-pillars, and gets a customized perforated hardtop and a canvas top to experience the great outdoors unfiltered. It’s also got a long overhang for pickup truck duties, with custom steel front and rear bumpers to help the approach and departure angles. To also help with off-road duties are a 3-inch lift kit with custom off-road suspension components, Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 axles, a mix of King Coils and Bypass shocks, 40-inch tyres and 20-inch beadlock wheels. Add on a cool mix of black, silver and orange around the body, and the Bob concept is quite the looker for a pickup truck.
Jeep 41 Concept
This is one of the more civilised concepts from Jeep, with an all military theme. It honors the Wrangler Willys from World War II with an olive drab green paint job, steel wheels, a 2-inch Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, 35-inch off-road tyres, and a Warn winch on the steel bumper. Inside, the retro theme continues with a special gear shifter, canvas-covered seats with camo inserts, as well as splashes of olive drab green around the instrument panel inserts. Based on the Wrangler 4xe, its powered by a 2-litre turbocharged I-4 engine, paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.
Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept
2022 marks 20 years since the Rubicon showed up as Jeep’s top of the line off-road package. And what better way to celebrate it with a special Wrangler concept. This concept, finished in matte granite crystal, is based on the manic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, and retains the radical 6.4-liter V-8 engine.
But this Wrangler gets a dual-mode performance exhaust, a performance hood with centre scoop to feed more air into the engine, custom half doors, and a Jeep’s Sky One-touch power retractable roof with removable side panels. All of this more speed and power!
Off-road goodies include a JPP 2-inch lift kit, 17-inch Mopar beadlock-capable wheels with 37-inch mud-terrain tires, steel bumpers, a Warn winch and a steel belly pan.
Jeep D-Coder Concept by JPP
Want a JPP catalogue on a Jeep? Well this concept fits the bill just fine. In fact all the parts added onto this Gladiator concept have QR codes which you can scan and learn everything about them and their purchasing options. Key mods include 7-inch LED off-road lights, a Rubicon Warn winch, a JPP 2-inch lift kit with FOX shocks, BFGoodrich KM3 37-inch tyres, and a Gorilla Glass windshield.
Jeep Birdcage Concept by JPP
Unlike its name, the Jeep Birdcage concept is pretty much the opposite of a birdcage. It allows for the most extreme outdoor experience with Jeep removing the windshield and wipers other than having a skeletal roof. It also comes with a custom rock-slider skid plate that protects the Warn winch to aid rock-crawling performance. Other off-road goodies include a retuned suspension setup with FOX shocks, a 2-inch lift kit, 17-inch beadlock wheels and 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tyres. Quite the car to let your wings loose don’t you think?
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Concept
We’ve never had the Grand Cherokee 4xe get a proper off-road treatment, and the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Concept gives us a glimpse of what's possible. In true Trailhawk fashion, you get Mopar rock rails, a custom roof rack, a Rhino-Liner-protected roof, Jeep’s Quadra-Lift air suspension, and 33-inch BFG mud-terrain tires mounted on 20-inch matte-grey wheels.
Sure, all these are one-off concepts, but it's cool to see what radical directions Jeep can potentially take on their current lineup. Back home, the carmaker recently unveiled the Meridian three-row SUV, which is slated for a launch in June. Well, any concepts based on the models sold in India, Jeep?
