Land Rover Defender Updated Globally, Check Out What’s New

• Land Rover has globally updated the Defender.

• Defender 110 Sedona Edition has been revealed, adorned with a red hue. 

• Captain chairs are now offered for the second row of the Defender 130.

• Gets a more powerful D350 diesel engine which makes 350 PS. 

• Customers now have a choice of X-Dynamic HSE, X and V8 specifications across 90 (three-door), 110 (five-door) and 130 (extended five-door) body styles.

Land Rover has updated the Defender in the international markets. The British carmaker has revealed a Sedona Edition for the Defender 110, and the introduction of captain chairs for the second row of the Defender 130 which will further enhance the comfort level. A new more powerful diesel engine has also been added to the engine lineup and there are new optional packs introduced as well. 

Defender 110 Sedona Edition Revealed 

The Defender 110 Sedona Edition has been revealed with a deep red colour, taking inspiration from Sedona, Arizona. It gets black coloured alloys, grille and skid plate for contrast. And if you want to make it look even cooler, you can opt for the optional decal that depicts the topography of Sedona. This edition was earlier seen on the larger Defender 130. A point to note is that the special edition will be offered for a year only. 

A More Powerful Diesel Engine

The Defender now gets a new more powerful D350 3-litre diesel engine which replaces the D300 engine. The D350 engine makes 350 PS and 700 Nm, an uplift of 50 PS and 50 Nm, respectively. 

Captain Chairs For the Defender 130

With the Defender 130, you now get the option of captain chairs for the second row. It gets armrests on either side of the chairs, and ample space in the middle to access the third row seats. They come with heating and cooling functions for added comfort. Speaking of which, you can also opt these captain seats with winged headrests, perfect for those who always love taking naps in the car.  

New Optional Packs

The Land Rover Defender in the Indian market is priced from Rs 97 lakh (ex-showroom). And when the updated model comes here, expect that price to go slightly upwards. It faces competition from the likes of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Jeep Wrangler.
