75-year edition is based on the top-spec HSE trim levels.
It’s available in the 90 and 110-series models in P400 and D300 variants.
Gets green interior trim pieces, dark interior upholstery and Robustec fabric gear knob.
Will be priced at a significant premium over the current Defender’s Rs 92.63 lakh price tag.
It’s been (nearly) 75 years since Land Rover introduced its first vehicle, the Series I, at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948. To celebrate the diamond jubilee, the carmaker has introduced a new 75th Limited Edition of its quintessential SUV, the Defender. It is available to configure now on the carmaker’s official website, but the prices for the India-spec model are yet to be revealed.
The Limited Edition is available in Defender 90 and Defender 110 variants (three and five-door iterations, respectively) with a bespoke, nostalgia-inducing green paint shade with matching wheels and several other cosmetic changes.
The special edition Defender is finished in a striking new Grasmere Green that’s reminiscent of the various shades of green available in early Land Rovers. The wheels are finished in a similar green colour and a “75 Years” badge on the tailgate sets the limited-edition variant apart.
Other than the cosmetic changes, the special edition Defender also gets the option of a foldable fabric roof, similar to the Series I SUVs that had removable soft tops.
Inside, the Defender 75th Limited Edition has an all-black cabin theme with seats upholstered in Resist Ebony. A similar Grasmere Green powder-coated trim piece of the dashboard sits most visibly on the passenger side, with laser-etched “75 Years” detailing on the end caps. The green can also be seen accenting the insides of the door panels.
The gear knob is finished in Robustec material which is the most durable fabric available for the Defender.
The limited edition Defender is based on the top-spec HSE trim level. It’s fully loaded with features such as an 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment touchscreen with Meridian sound system, panoramic sunroof (unless you opt for the soft top), three-zone climate control and powered and heated front seats. It also gets features such as an electrically deployable tow bar, a 360-degree camera and terrain response modes for off-roading.

The Defender 75th Limited Edition is available with 3-litre P400 petrol and D300 diesel mild-hybrid powertrains in India. Overseas, it’s also offered with the P400e plug-in hybrid variant.
Given the UK-spec SUV’s pricing, the special-edition Land Rover Defender is likely to come at a significant premium of around Rs 20 lakh and up, depending on the variant. The top-spec Defender retails from Rs 97.61 lakh (ex-showroom).
