Nissan is set to introduce a new AMT transmission for the Magnite. This new transmission option will be paired with the 1-litre NA petrol powertrain. It will appeal to buyers who want an affordable automatic alternative to the turbo-petrol CVT. Nissan will likely take the wraps off this new variant in the month of October.

The new transmission in question is the 5-speed AMT from the Renault Kiger, teamed with the 72PS 1-litre NA powertrain. Currently, this engine in the Magnite is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission only. The 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine, on the other hand, outputs 100PS and up to 160Nm, and is paired to either a 5-speed MT or a CVT.

The Magnite comes in four broad trims, and is offered in five monotone and four dual-tone variants. It comes loaded with safety features, like a 360-degree camera system, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
