Revolt Intellicorp has just announced that it will be taking bookings for its RV400 electric motorcycle in 70 cities across India, starting on October 21, 2021. Potential buyers can log on to the Revolt website and choose to get notified of the exact moment online bookings open up. Conversely, buyers can also visit Revolt Experience Centres across the six cities where the company is currently present - Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai -- on the date to book the electric bike.
The company has plans to expand its retail centres into a further 64 cities by early 2022, including Bangalore, Kolkata, Jaipur, Surat, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Delhi NCR.
Given the sharp increase in fuel prices, two-wheeler buyers have been considering more electric options, and this has shown in the high demand that the RV400 has seen recently. Coupled with the company’s limited production runs, the RV400 sold out in mere hours of going on sale the last couple of times bookings had opened.
And in case you needed a little refresher about the RV400, it is India’s only proper electric motorcycle and is powered by a 3kW mid-mounted motor that uses a belt drive for power delivery. This motor is fed by a removable 3.24KwH lithium-ion battery that Revolt claims gives the bike a range of 150km on a single charge in Eco mode. The motorcycle features three riding modes - Eco, Normal and Sport, the last of which allows for a top speed of 85kmph. Revolt also claims that a normal full charge for the battery takes 4.5 hours, but it can be swapped in under 60 seconds at one of their Switch Stations.
