Quick News Highlights
Royal Enfield has unveiled the Goan Classic 350 in India, their newest addition to the 350cc lineup. The bike is a bobber offering based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and shares a lot of parts in common with the bike.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 features a lot of changes, starting off with the colours. Compared to the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the Goan gets a lot more lively looking colour schemes which manages to attract a lot of attention.
Design-wise, there have been a few changes, including the addition of ape-hanger style handlebars, removal of the rear seat and also the addition of a new exhaust end can. These changes, although minor, manage to make the bike stand out quite a bit and give it that unique bobber look and feel.
Along with this, Royal Enfield has also made some tweaks to the bike’s underpinnings. The bike gets a 19-inch front and 16-inch rear spoke wheel setup with tubeless whitewall tyres. The tyres look really good and gives the bike that retro look and feel, while also making it easier to handle punctures.
The Goan Classic 350 still shares a lot of similarities with the Classic 350. It gets the same engine, which is a 349c, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor which outputs 20.2PS and 27Nm.
It is built on a dual cradle frame and features a suspension setup that comprises a telescopic fork and twin-shock absorbers. Braking setup consists of a 300mm front and a 270mm rear disc.
The features remain similar to the Classic 350, with the Goan getting a single-pod instrument console with an analogue speedometer and a digital inset for fuel level, trip and odometer readouts. Customers also have the option to get the Royal Enfield tripper navigation module for turn-by-turn navigation.
The introduction of the Goan Classic 350 will offer customers who are looking to get a bobber some much needed variety. Currently, there are only two bobber offerings in the market, the Jawa Perak and the Jawa 42 Bobber. But both are at two ends of the spectrum when it comes to design and styling. The Jawa Perak being a retro style bike, and the 42 Bobber being a modern one.
The Goan Classic 350 will be an ideal middle ground and one which offers a retro riding experience, with a bit more flashy looks and colours. We believe the bike could be launched at a price that is around the Rs 2.2 lakh mark ex-showroom.
