The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350, a bobber-inspired version of the Classic 350, offers a distinct look and feel compared to its competitors. It directly challenges the Jawa 42 Bobber, another 300-350cc motorcycle, and the two bikes offer different takes on the bobber style.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 enters the 350cc bobber market with fresh paint schemes, based on the higher-spec version of the popular Classic 350, although its overall design is not significantly different from the Classic 350. This is Royal Enfield's most premium 350cc motorcycle. For the extra cost, the Goan Classic 350 gets a 100mm taller ape hanger handlebar, chopped fenders, a detachable pillion seat, and white-walled tyres. The Goan Classic 350 is available in four colors: Rave Red, Trip Teal, Purple Haze, and Shack Black.
The Jawa 42 Bobber epitomizes the bobber style with its low-slung, single-seat look. The bike gets a flatter handlebar with bar-end mirrors, alongside a neo-retro aesthetic. It has a range of color options including Mystic Copper, Moonstone White, Jasper Red, Black Mirror, and Red Sheen.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 features all-LED lighting, adjustable brake and clutch levers, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a fuel gauge, gear indicator, 2 trip meters, as well as tubeless spoke wheels.
The Jawa 42 Bobber offers all-LED lighting and a fully-digital instrument cluster. The single seat is adjustable in two steps for added comfort.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 features 19-inch front and 16-inch rear tubeless spoke wheels. The bike is fitted with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by discs at both ends and ByBre calipers, with dual-channel ABS.
The Jawa 42 Bobber is also equipped with discs at both ends, paired with dual-channel ABS. The 42 Bobber’s wheels are 18-inches in the front and 17-inches in the rear. The lower trims come with tube-type spoke wheels, while the higher trims are equipped with alloy wheels.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is powered by a 348cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 20.9PS and 27 Nm. It is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox.
The Jawa 42 Bobber, on the other hand, is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 30.4PS and 32.7 Nm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 starts at ₹2.35 lakh for the single-tone color variants, with dual-tone options priced at ₹2.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
Meanwhile, the Jawa 42 Bobber is priced between ₹2.13 lakh and ₹2.31 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the color scheme.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 and the Jawa 42 Bobber each offer unique features, performance, and styling. The choice between the two will depend on your preferences for design, engine performance, and price.
