The new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has the biggest engine displacement of all the four roadsters. However, its power output is almost at par with that of the Speed 400. That said, the engine on the Harley-Davidson X440 and Mavrick is the same, and is a rather simple configuration. While they make significantly less power, their torque figure is quite close to the other two roadsters.
All the roadsters in this comparison have a tubular steel chassis except for the Mavrick, which has a trellis frame.

The Guerrilla and the Mavrick have a conventional fork, but the Guerrilla 450 has a longer front wheel travel of the two, but the same as the Triumph Speed 400. The Speed 400 and the X440 have inverted forks, which give these two roadsters a more premium appeal. All the roadsters have preload adjustability on the rear suspension, however, the X440 and the Mavrick have a twin-shock setup.
All the bikes have 17-inch wheels, except the X440, which has an 18-inch front wheel. That said, the Guerrilla has the widest tyres of the four bikes, which should make it more stable. However, we can only find out once we compare these bikes in the real world.
Comparing the braking setup, the X440 and the Mavrick have a 320mm front disc, which is bigger than the other two, while the Guerrilla has the biggest rear disc at 270mm. All the bikes here have dual-channel ABS.

The Guerrilla 450 has the longest wheelbase of the four bikes. That paired with the wider wheels should make it feel more stable on the straight roads. It also has the lowest seat height which should make it more accessible for shorter riders. While Triumph hasn’t specified the ground clearance of the Speed 400, we didn’t find it concerning when we rode the bike. That said the Hero Mavrick 440 has the most ground clearance which allows it to ride over bumps without much issue, as compared to the other bikes.
The X440 and the Mavrick have the biggest fuel tanks of the lot, and with a claimed mileage of 35kmpl, the X440 should offer the most range. That said, while Hero hasn’t specified the claimed mileage of the Mavrick, it should be similar or close to that of the X440.
The new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is the most feature-rich bike in this comparison. Its mid and the top variants have a 5-inch circular TFT display with smartphone connectivity, call and music controls, and integrated Google Maps.

While the X440 and the Maverick have turn-by-turn navigation, the Speed 400 does not have navigation, even as an option. That said, it's the only bike here that has switchable traction control, but the Guerrilla 450 has two riding modes: Power & Eco. All the bikes in this comparison have LED lighting all around.

The Hero Mavrick 440 is the most affordable roadster of the lot, while the new Guerrilla is priced considerably lower than the Harley-Davidson X440.
That said, Triumph is currently offering a discount of Rs 10,000 on the Speed 400 till July 31, 2024, which puts it almost at par with the Mavrick.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 price makes it seem like the most value-for-money bike, at least on paper, considering the performance and features it offers over the other 3 bikes. That said, the Harley-Davidson X440 and the Hero Mavrick 440 take a straightforward approach. The Triumph Speed 400 looks similar to its bigger modern classic roadster siblings, and forms an entry-point for the Brit brand. The latter is also done by the X440 for the American brand.
