BMW has given updates to one of India’s most popular performance sedans, the M340i. While the updates are not major, they do make the sedan more appealing. It is the most powerful version of the 3 Series, and with its attractive pricing, it has sold over 1,000 units, which is a terrific statistic for a performance sedan.
While the updates do not bring in anything new mechanically, it does offer something new for both exterior as well as interior. Read on to know the details of the 2024 BMW M340i.
There are no changes to the exterior design of the updated BMW M340i, but it now comes with Jet Black 19-inch alloy wheels which amp up the sportiness. You continue to get the aggressively styled elements like the L-shaped elements in the headlights, and the sharp-looking bumper, which are in line with the sedan’s aggressive nature.
The colour palette has been updated as you now get two new shades, namely, the Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red. Other shades available are Dravit Grey, and Black Sapphire.
Coming to the interior, the dashboard design and layout have been untouched. While the features also remain the same, BMW has updated the Operating System from 8.0 to 8.5. You get the 14.9-inch infotainment system running on the updated system. For more details about the BMW’s interior and features, head over to our story.
Moving on from the technical details of the interior, BMW has introduced Vernasca leather seats with contrasting M (blue-coloured) stitching. The steering wheel’s design has also received minor tweaks, but continues to get the three-spoke design.
Yes and no! The M340i now gets M Adaptive Suspension as standard fitment. However, the heart of the sedan remains the same as it continues to get the 3-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which churns out 374 PS and 500 Nm. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to all four wheels. Foot down on the pedal, and it goes from naught to 100kmph in just 4.4 seconds!
The updated version is priced at Rs 74.9 lakh (ex-showroom) which is Rs 2 lakh more than the outgoing model. It competes with the Audi S5 In India.
