The Updated Jawa And Yezdi Bikes Are Both Cleaner & Dearer

BS6.2, otherwise known as OBD2, is the new emission compliance brands have to now mandatorily meet. We have seen a few brands adopt this transition recently and it’s time for Classic Legends owned Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles.

Firstly, the entire range has been updated to OBD2 and it hasn’t been in batches like in the case of Yamaha. Secondly, while in the process, the manufacturers have tweaked the bikes for a claimed improvement in refinement and performance (although power figures for all bikes remain unchanged). And yes, prices have gone up too!

Key engine parts have been reworked for lower noise and vibration levels in the Jawa range- 42 2.1 , Forty Two, 42 Bobber and Perak. Additionally, the fuel mapping has been changed, and it now has a larger throttle body and exhaust ports for better rideability and performance. The Jawa 42 now gets a slip and assist clutch and a new silencer for sportier exhaust note, among other small changes.  

Similar improvements are also made to the Yezdi line, which includes the Roadster, Scrambler and Adventure, to improve NVH and rideability. All three variants feature a bigger rear sprocket for low-end performance and tractability. 

It’s reassuring to see that Jawa and Yezdi are making use of these emission updates as an opportunity to further improve on their motorcycles holistically. However, needless to say, there’s a small hike (0.8 - 2 percent) in the asking price for one of these now. Check out the latest prices here:
