Jawa has launched the Tawang Edition of its roadster, the Jawa 42 2.1. It’s based on the Allstar Black edition that was launched back in 2021 and gets ‘Tawang Edition’ badging on its tank, giving it an aesthetic look. What’s more is that only 100 of these will be produced and they’re exclusively for customers from Arunachal Pradesh and the neighboring regions.
The limited-edition bike takes inspiration from Lungta, the mythical wind horse which stands for good fortune and prosperity. The bike even features a Lungta motif on the front fender as well as fuel tank. What’d make buying this special-edition bike even more special is the fact that each one of the 100 bikes will get a unique numbered medallion.
Other bits, meanwhile, have remained unchanged. Its 293cc liquid-cooled engine still makes 27.33PS and 26.84Nm. The bike is suspended on a telescopic fork and twin shocks, and braking is taken care of by a 280mm front disc and 153mm drum at the rear (or a 240mm disc, which is optional).
What’s surprising is that this special edition Jawa 42 2.1 costs a whopping Rs 20,000 more over the standard bike in Arunachal Pradesh. For perspective, the bike currently costs Rs 1,94,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). While that might sound like a lot, the fact that it’s specially reserved for Arunachal Pradesh and the neighbouring regions could make it worth it for them. So if any of you folks from Arunachal Pradesh are reading this and find this bike rather attractive, we’d suggest you head to the closest Jawa dealership ASAP and book one for yourself. You can also book the bike online for a sum of Rs 5,000, which is fully refundable.
