- The gorgeous chrome treatment along with the pinstripes truly oozes retro charm

Cafe racers are always a sight to behold, especially when it looks as beautiful as this Honda. But this is not a factory-fitted bike but a modified one. It is based on the Honda Hness CB350.

The most obvious modification done is at the front-end of the bike, which is dominated by the cafe racer style fairing. It looks especially beautiful with the chrome lining around its boundary. The stock alloy wheels have been retained but have been given a silver paint job. Also, the tyres are white-walled tyres in this cafe racer, accentuating the retro vibes very well.

The instrument console has been replaced by a tachometer pod, speedometer pod with a digital inset showing odometer readouts and a thermometer pod showing engine temperature readings. The single-piece handlebar has been replaced by clip-on handlebars, which is obvious for that committed cafe racer riding position. The Honda badging in words on the fuel tank has been replaced by the iconic Honda wings badge and the tank gets beautiful silver and gold-coloured pinstripes.

The chrome treatment is another standout feature of the custom bike as it is seen on the fins of the 348.36cc engine’ cylinder heads and other components, side panel, tail-section and the exhaust, which is now a twin-setup. It starts a single exhaust from the exhaust manifold and splits into two pipes near the footpegs. Talking about the footpegs, they are custom aftermarket units too.

The split-seat setup has been replaced by a custom single-seat and the pillion seat has been replaced by a cowl with silver and gold-coloured pinstripes, maintaining the continuity with the fuel tank. The taillight and the indicators have been kept as stock. All of these changes are complemented perfectly by the black colour scheme, providing a clear canvas for those elements to shine.

The most impressive bit about the modification is the close attention to detail that has gone into the design, pinstripes and the chrome treatment of the bike. The word ‘modification’ is used even when someone changes the wheels on their bike. But to turn a retro roadster into a cafe racer with such wholesome changes and beautiful craftsmanship in a way that it stands out on its own and not just a custom version of a factory bike is the true essence of the modification culture.
