Citroen Basalt Review: Surprise Package?

The past week saw plenty of new cars being unveiled and launched in India, including the Nissan X-Trail and Maserati Grecale, along with a new variant introduced for the Hyundai Venue.The Grand i10 Nios was updated with new dual-cylinder CNG variants and there’s a lot more that happened. Nissan X-Trail Launched
Nissan launched the X-Trail in its fourth-gen avatar in India at a price tag of Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). It has been launched in a single fully-loaded variant and is brought in via the CBU route with a limited 150 units for sale. It rivals the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
Hyundai has launched dual-cylinder CNG variants of the Grand i10 Nios at a starting price of Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The dual-cylinder CNG tanks liberates more space in the boot improving its practicality quotient. Read more about it here.
Hyundai has launched a new variant for the Venue, namely S(O)+ at a price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It sits between the S(O) and SX trims in the line-up, and makes the sunroof feature more accessible by Rs 75,000. Read more about the new variant launched here.
The recent spied interiors of the Mahindra Thar Roxx give a glimpse of the single-pane sunroof which will be available in the mid-spec trims of the Thar Roxx. While the auto manufacturer had already teased before that the top-spec trims will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof option. Read more about it here.
Maserati launched the Grecale in India at an introductory price of Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom). The Grecale is available in three trims namely GT, Modena and Trofeo priced from Rs 1.31 crore to Rs 2.05 crore (ex-showroom). The India-made MAruti Suzuki Ertiga and Renault Triber for the South African market have been crash tested by GNCAP. For adult occupant protection, the Ertiga scored one star, while the Triber scored 2 star rating. Read more in depth about the crash test results of the Ertiga and the Triber.
Toyota is considering establishing a new manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) and has signed a MOU with the Maharashtra government. The plan involves setting up a Greenfield Manufacturing Facility, which will further strengthen the company's focus on advanced green technologies, products and services. MG's forthcoming electric crossover will be named the Windsor EV and is set to be launched around the upcoming festive season. Internationally, it is sold under the Wuling brand as the Cloud EV. After a halt of more than 3 months, Toyota has re-opened the bookings for the top-spec ZX and ZX(O) variants of the Innova Hycross. These were the top-spec varianst for the hybrid powertrain and the MPV is available in seven broad trims. Read more about the variants here.
The highly anticipated Citroen Basalt SUV-Coupe has been officially unveiled by the French manufacturer ahead of its launch. Exterior details were revealed earlier, but this time around, we got the details of the cabin. It is similar to existing Citroen models but packs new feature niceties. The Basalt will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv in the compact SUV segment and is expected to be priced around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Read the revealing report here.
